The main diagram window is where you are to develop the model of your vibrating mechanical system. Drag components over from the tool window, and link them together with the screwdriver tool.
EDITING COMPONENTS
To edit the values of a component in the main dialog window, move the cursor (either the screwdriver or the pliers) over the component you want to edit, and double click.
CONNECTING COMPONENTS
Components are connected by drawing a line between them with the screwdriver tool. Start by clicking in one of the small "connection" circles on one component. Then drag to a "Connection" circle on another component.
BREAKING CONNECTIONS
To break a connection instead of making one, you need to change to the pliers tool. Do this by clicking on the pliers in the tool window. Then you can click in the "Connection" circle of any component to break the connections.
MOVING COMPONENTS
To move a component around in the diagram window, click on it, and drag its outline to the desired position on the screen. The connections associtated with it will be moved automatically.
RUNNING THE SIMULATION
To run the simulation, you need to pull down the meny "Run Simulation" from the "Calculations" menu. It will ask you to enter the time increment and the total time for the simulation.
PLOTTING AN OUTPUT
After the simulation has been run, any output, or combination of outputs, may be plotted by selecting the standard plot under the output menu. The math plot and X-Y plot have not yet been implemented.
CLOSING A WINDOW
To close a window, select either the Close item in the File menu, or click the window's go-away box with the option key held down. If option is not held while the go-away box is clicked, then window is only hidden, not closed.
